“Are you a beat-maker with a brain for biology? A teacher who thinks in rhythms?”

Who We’re Looking For

  • Educators, musicians, scientists, creatives, and community leaders

  • Passionate about equity, innovation, and hands-on learning

  • Comfortable leading workshops, mentoring K-12 students, and co-creating curriculum

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate Program Sessions (onsite or on-line)

  • Guide students in session activites (i.e.building instruments and other hands-on activities applicable to the courses)

  • Collaborate on curriculum and outreach events

  • Optional: Lead podcasting, career panels, or showcase events

What We Provide

  • Training and onboarding sessions to get facilitators up to speed

  • Comprehensive curriculum kits along with access to all the required software for smooth facilitation

  • Stipends provided to facilitators as a token of appreciation for their valuable time and efforts

  • Continuous ongoing support and a vibrant community to keep everyone connected and motivated

Name: Dr. Alan B. Tyson, II

Role: Sonic STEMMulus Facilitator – Digital Audio Sound

Bio: Dr. Tyson is an educator, musician, entrepreneur, and husband to his beautiful wife Daijia. He is originally from Columbus, Ohio. He attended Morehouse College and Indiana University-Indianapolis for undergrad. He also obtained his Master’s and PhD in Music Technology from Indiana University-Indianapolis.

Fun Fact: He is the founder of MuSciQ, a program that uses music to help students learn!
